Hi Everybody!
Justin got this site going so that any and all information and communication can occur with and about Mom and all that's going on. It might save a sore neck for Mom and Dad at times when a lot of people may want to know how things are going. In order to post messages, you need to make a new account the first time (free) and then sign in when you visit after that. Hope it works!

Thanks Judy and Justin -
I think this will be a great communication device for us all.
Has anyone heard anything about today's treatment? I've tried to call and left a message - wasn't able to get through. Hopefully they're talking on the phone to others and it's not that she's feeling really terrible. Thanks again for starting the blog.
Thanks Justin! Good idea Judy! I'm sure this will be a good communication tool.
Hello, All -
I was able to talk with Martha/Mom/Grandma last night. She called about 9:30 p.m. Said they had just come in from playing pinochle with Les and Martina. They had been at the dr's office for five hours yesterday from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. It took a while to get everything set up. She was given a bag of anti-nausea medication first and then the chemo. She said she is to get a port through which the drugs will be given in the future. She thought that was going to happen yesterday, but she has to go to the hospital for that and is supposed to do it before her next treatment. Yesterday they gave it to her IV through a vein in her hand. She said it went well, the nurse did a good job of finding her vein. She said she knitted a cap and read the Ensign while she had the treatment, that they got home about 2:30 p.m. and she made a simple lunch and dinner for the two of them.
She also said she had gotten very little sleep the night before because the anti-nausea pills she's taking cause sleeplessness as a side effect.
She sounded very positive and up when we spoke. She said her chest had stopped hurting yesterday and she wasn't having shoulder pain last night either. She knows there's likely more of a reaction ahead but she's taking it a day at a time.
I was glad to hear her sounding so positive and doing okay after a marathon day. Hopefully future treatments won't take that long. This afternoon she goes in for a shot to strengthen her white blood cells. That's the report so far.
Thanks for starting the website and thanks for the updates. However, Mom, you're supposed to create an account so that you can update on the main page instead of in the comments.
For some reason I can't login on the main page.
I was wondering about setting up a dinner schedule for the week that Mom has chemo. Even if we fix a meal that can go in the freezer and Dad or Mom can take it out for the next day or later that day.
